half-way point exit #39

8.12.2013

just the other day i was writing about our half-way point stops between our home in chicagoland and our "home" with family in michigan. just this weekend we got to spend a couple hours at our favorite exit, exit# 39 in coloma, michigan. this little stop on the road has a great antique shop, fresh fruit stands, orchards for picking, a cider mill with a cider bar, the most amazing chocolate truffles you will ever eat and more we have yet to explore. this weekend we tried our hand at picking peaches ( the first time picking anything for nate and makai). the tractor ride was a huge hit and picking peaches turned out to be quite a fun little adventure. we also hit up the cider bar close by and after trying 6 different kinds, we all fell hard for the pomegranate cider....so much that i.can't.stop.thinking.about.it...soo good! this little exit is filling our lives with lots of little but oh so fun memories.

makai,

i owe a big thank -you....to you!  being spontaneous, exploring, trying new things is what makes mommy's heart happy and you have a special way of awakening that part of my being. seeing you experience things for the first time is something that brings me great joy and having you by my side has made me want to venture out even more. there is so much in this world to see and so much to experience.....even the little things. i hope you never loose your sense of adventure and wonder,i hope your eyes stay wide and your smile big. i hope you always take time to enjoy the little things, are never too fearful to try the big things and that you get to experience all of what this big big world has to offer!

love always,
mommy
