we found a home

Last weekend we took a very short trip to Chicagoland to find ourselves a new home. We decided to leave Makai with my parents. It would have been nearly impossible to find a new place in such a short time while caring for an "I hate the car" one year old. We spent a lot of our time driving around looking at different places, checking out Nate's new place of work and our soon to be neighborhood.

Our last day ( of the two we were there) we found a place in Schaumburg. It's not the area we planned to be in but there just wasn't much out there for us. For the money we have to spend to live in the area, we wanted something nice. You would be amazed at some of the dumpy places we saw, especially for the amount of rent they were asking. Seriously people, I prefer to live somewhere that doesn't consider a slab in a parking lot your backyard space. I also enjoy a clean home that doesn't look like a 3 year old enjoyed lunch on the carpet everyday!

Anyhoo, we love the place we found and are getting exited about the big move!

The last night ,after we signed the lease to our new place, we decided to celebrate and take a trip into Chicago! We have no idea when we will be alone again, just the two of us, so we jumped at the chance to take an overnight trip into the city.

The funny thing is we were soo tired from the stressful weekend that we grabbed some Chicago style pizza at a quaint little restaurant then headed back to the hotel and went straight to bed!
