Nate and I recently decided to sell our home so we could be free to go wherever Nate's work might some day take him. A couple weeks after talking to our Realtor we decided to put our house the market. That same morning just hours before signing the papers Nate got a call from a friend in the Chicago area offering him a job that was just too good to pass up. Talk about God paving a way for us and opening up doors. Accepting the job was much easier since we just had two weeks to get used to the idea of leaving our home and our oh so loved neighborhood.
Things are moving quickly as we plan to move sometime in the middle of August! We go next weekend to look for a place to live and will be spending every waking moment packing up the home we have lived in for 5 1/2 years. Let me just say that packing with a walking 1 year old while trying to keep a very clean home is not an easy task! These are the moments I am thankful for our somewhat minimalist lifestyle.
We are excited for what the future holds but I am having a hard time imagining life 5 hours away from our family! Yes, I know it's not across the country but for a girl like me it's a hard pill to swallow. Not to mention my Mother is the only person who has ever watched Makai. Aside from Nate's Aunt who watched him once while he slept so we could go to dinner for our anniversary. Needless to say, I'm sure I will be begging my parents to jump on the train quite often ( a perk to living in Chicagoland)!
For those of you wondering how in the world we plan to sell our home in this crazy market, Nate is unemployed at the moment and since we have to move out of state for work we qualify for a short sale. This means we should be able to sell the house for much less than we owe. Let's just hope others like our home as much as we do!
