What a creative daddy!

4.25.2010

Nate and I decided we wanted to paint a graffiti style alphabet in the baby's nursery. My talented and creative husband found a font he liked online and then created his own version of it. I love how it turned out! Here are a few pictures of the whole process.
Our colors for the mural came from this big frog we got in New York at the Fao Schwarz toy store. We just got a little darker green so it would go better with the rest of the green in the room.
First Nate sketched the alphabet on the wall with a pencil
He painted ea. letter w/ a sponge brush and 2 coats of blue paint
Griffey was watching daddy paint from the bottom of our stroller..he loves hiding out in all the new baby stuff.
Weston  was soo good the last 2 days as daddy painted....
Back to painting....the next step was trimming the letters with 2 coats of green paint
Then adding some highlights with orange paint

Here is the final product. I like how Nate carried the alphabet onto the closet doors.
Here are the letters close up so you can really see the colors.

My hubby did such a good job! He really wanted to add something special to the nursery that he did himself.
